Observing Opportunities on Campus

Sunday 2 PM update. We are going to be there with a few scopes but the forecast says we will not be viewing. The cloud cover may clear a little but then it will close up again before the eclipse begins.

Plans for observing the total eclipse of the Moon, Sunday, September 27: We will setup telescopes on Rivers Green, the garden area next to Addlestone library on its south side. There is little to see during the penumbral phase of the eclipse, so we will begin observing at 9 PM, just before second contact at 9:06 PM. We will pack up the scopes after totality has been reached around 10:30 PM though the eclipse will continue for more than an additional hour.

If there is a weather cancellation, and the outlook is poor, I will post updates on this page Sunday at 2 PM and at 7 PM.

I will announce the next observing session as the opportunity arises. Check back.
